New data from Kantar Health on cardiovascular disease in the US

To mark American Heart Month, Kantar Health have released new US cardiovascular disease data from their National Health and Wellness Survey.

The data highlights the importance of American Heart Month, showing that 91 million adults (or 40% of the adult population) in the US have been diagnosed with cardiovascular disease.

Of that 91 million, 80% are taking a prescription medication, an over-the-counter product or a combination of the two to manage their cardiovascular disease, while 20%, or 18 million people, are not treating their heart disease at all.

Despite the link between lifestyle and developing heart disease, 18% of adults with cardiovascular disease smoke, 45% are obese and only 58% exercise at least once a month.

Download the document below for more detailed cardiovascular disease data or visit the Kantar Health website.
